FIELD: production of pants. SUBSTANCE: method involves positioning hosiery articles on two flat paired templates; bringing templates with hosiery articles together; cutting longitudinal parts of hosiery articles; positioning templates in spaced relation and sewing edges of hosiery articles; repeatedly bringing templates together and removing sewn pants from them. To effectuate mentioned operations, elastic edges of two hosiery articles are arranged in predetermined position by gripping elastic edge of first hosiery article, which is positioned farther from predetermined position. First hosiery article is urged for sliding toward predetermined position. Elastic edge of second hosiery article is gripped and aligned with edge of first hosiery article in vertical plane. Aligned edges of two hosiery articles are urged for sliding toward predetermined position. Top parts of both hosiery articles are arranged in one predetermined position by accumulating these top parts up to the moment the initial line of hosiery articles reaches predetermined position. Top part of hosiery articles is removed to predetermined length. Templates are positioned at angular distance of 180 deg one relative to the other together with partially cut hosiery articles and edges are sewn along their straight lengths in end-to-end way, with sewing of one edge being conducted simultaneously with sewing of other edge. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and improved quality of pants. 20 cl, 16 dwg
