FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of material with jet of working agent supplied at supersonic velocity and focused by nozzle. preliminary fuel mixture is detonated. Flexible membrane is placed in the way of shock wave and filled with working agent and forming convergent wave to produce in nozzle the zone of superhigh pressure, and reaction products are released from working zone. The device has body accommodating two chambers in the form of truncated cone joined by their tops and intercommunicating through a system of holes. The first chamber has mechanism for discharge of reaction products from working zone and conical flexible membrane whose hollow is communicated with nozzle by means of water intake. Member top is connected with nozzle by the first electrode installed in the second chamber. The first electrode may have sprayer at its end with spiral holes and check valves.
