FIELD: creation of repeating cumulative effect, different-shape cumulative streams and directed shock waves at working surfaces. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding pressurized working medium stream into chamber, exploding it at short-circuiting two electrodes by stream, applying electric current pulse to electrodes. Process is realized in finely divided medium including mixture of finely divided particles of combustible and oxidizer. Apparatus includes chamber 1 with stream emitting and stream receiving electrodes 2,3 respectively. One end of chamber is connected with worked surface 5 of article. Chamber 1 is filled with finely divided medium 6. Apparatus is also provided with additional chambers 7,8. One of additional chambers has electrodes 2,3. Chamber 8 has mechanism for supplying finely divided medium 6. Additional chambers are joined with main chamber in parallel or successively and they have non-return valves 9. Superhigh pressure and temperature values that may be received in such apparatus allow to realize different-types of operations such as explosion molding, welding, cutting, explosion strengthening and compaction, phase conversions and shock-wave heating.
