FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises reacting hypochlorous acid solution with alkali metal hydroxide in water immiscible organic solvent. The solvent is mixture of 30-50 by volume of tributyl phosphate and n-dodecane or mixture thereof with decane and tridecane at 0-30 C and the organic solvent is subsequently separated. Aqueous hypochlorous acid solution is prepared by acidification or alkylation to adjust to pH 4.0-6.8 of aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution. EFFECT: more efficient preparation. 2 cl
