FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, hot zincing. SUBSTANCE: method involves withdrawing pipe from bath containing zinc melt at an angle to horizontal plane; moving pipe in horizontal plane; inserting tool bar into pipe for blasting with gaseous medium; supplying gaseous medium under pressure between tool bar and inner surface of pipe; withdrawing tool bar from pipe, with pipe temperature being maintained at the level above zinc melting temperature along the whole length of pipe. Apparatus has bar, nozzles and bar moving mechanism having drive connected with one end of bar. Drive is made in the form of cable with pullers and drive drum put onto end of high-speed reducer shaft. Shaft of reducer has drive. Other end of bar made in the form of needle is provided with headpiece configured in accordance with inner surface of pipe. Nozzle is defined by headpiece and inner surface of pipe. Apparatus has bar guide formed as slotted tube and funnels for end fixation of tube. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and apparatus and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 2 dwg
