FIELD: production of hot-rolled pipes and bar. SUBSTANCE: toothed cutting tool is made as segment with cutting teeth positioned along curve in the form of tapered spiral. It is mounted on face plate, and it rotates continuously above pipe moving along roller conveyer. Pipe lifting mechanism is fitted with fork made as a lever. One end of lever is hinge-positioned on spring-loaded link of hinged parallelogram, and other end is hinge-connected to pusher which is couped to lever mounted for swinging relative to stationary axle. Prior to cutting, electric magnet is energized, and swinging lever, while approaching the latter, is held by it. Fork turns and lifts pipe. In this case, cutting teeth of tool positioned at spiral cone vertex start pipe cutting, and cutting teeth arranged at spiral cone base finish it. After cutting is completed electric magnet is deenergized, and fork is folded back from pipe. Construction of the device makes it possible to reduce residual deformation of pipe end bend after cutting due to uniform removal of metal by each of cutting teeth of toothed cutting tool.
