FIELD: atmosphere protection from solid particles and detrimental gaseous materials formed during combustion of hydrocarbon fuels in internal-combustion engines (primarily diesel engines), boilers of thermal and cogeneration power plants, etc. SUBSTANCE: filter element with waste gases flowing over loop is built up of flat permeable plates mounted in a desired spaced relation to each other due to U-shaped plugs alternating with their open and closed sides in direction of waste gas flow so that inlet and outlet slit channels are formed to pass, respectively, source and cleaned waste gases. Each inlet slit channel of filter element accommodates two flat nonpermeable plates of smaller length so that cross slits of desired size are formed between rear ends of these plates and closed sides of U-shaped plugs; each outlet slit channel houses one nonpermeable flat plate with catalytic coating on its surface. All nonpermeable plates are installed in a desired spaced relation to each other and to permeable plates due to U-shaped plugs and stamped pimples (or separating bushes). Length of nonpermeable plates installed in outlet slit channels is specified proceeding from desired catalytic surface. EFFECT: improved design. 9 cl, 5 dwg
