FIELD: food industry and other branches of industry for drying loose materials. SUBSTANCE: to increase surface of evaporation of loose materials they are formed into tape in vertical housing 4 with chamber made in form of radio transparent material alternating plates 5 arranged at acute angle in direction of material flow. Microwave drying is carried out in combination with convection drying by means of heat carrier. Heat carrier is delivered and brought out through below-cutoff waveguides 8. Loading of loose materials into dryer and discharging of loose material is carried out through below-cutoff waveguides 3. Provision is made for using charging and intake hoppers without below-cutoff waveguides. In this case electrically hermetic covers 10 and 12 provide adequate protection. To provide matching of dryer housing 4 with microwave sources, adjacent walls between charging hopper 2 and housing 4 are made of radio transparent material.
