FIELD: pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: licorice root an aqueous extract solution is mixed with sulfuric acid and precipitate is extracted with organic solvent followed by addition of ammonia an aqueous solution. The precipitated trisubstituted ammonium salt of glycyrrhizic acid is reduced to monosubstituted salt by addition of acetic acid followed by separation of ready product. The use of an aqueous-butanol mixture as an organic solvent ensures to exclude the use of acetone and ethanol for the end product purification. The end product is used in veterinary science mainly. EFFECT: improved method of preparing.
