FIELD: fire-fighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: device body accommodates charge of fire-extinguishing compound with central channel whose external surface is armored with incombustible material, charge initiating means and chamber for formation of aerosol where complete burning of compound takes place that is ensured by high excess of oxidizer in compound. Device has cooling unit made of inert or chemically active porous substance forming no toxic components during decomposition. Porous substance is pelletized in granules of 7-10 mm in diameter. Mass of cooling unit amounts to 0.75-1.25 of charge mass. Internal surface of device body is coated with heat-resistant material. Fire-extinguishing compound includes the following ingredients, mas. %: binding fuel, 2-2.5; dicyandiamide or melem, melamine, 15-20; CaO or K2Cr2O7, CuC2O7•2H2O, C6H2O2N3K, 1-3; KNO3 and/or NaNO3, the balance.
