DEVICE FOR HELICOPTER HAULING OF FELLED TREES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; devices for hauling and transportation of felled trees by helicopters in process of selective logging and transportation of wood from difficult to reach areas. SUBSTANCE: device has wire rope secured on helicopter body and grip fitted in lower part of wire rope. Distance between places of connection of wire rope on helicopter body and grip is within 1.78-7.27 of diameter of helicopter main rotor. Grip is made in form of tongs furnished with drive supplied from power source. Power source can either be installed on helicopter and can be independent. Grip drive can be of hydraulic or electric make and grip can be additionally furnished with at least two air fans located on grip symmetrically relative to place of its connection on wire rope. Drives of air fans are electric, with connection through additional supply lines to power source, and supply lines of grip drives and air fans can be mated with wire rope.
