FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: automat has device for setting springs in a row, mechanism for moving the rows of springs, and device for assembling the rows of springs in a unit by way of feeding and rotating a connecting spiral. All of the devices and mechanism are mounted on the frame. The device for setting the springs in a row has accumulator with stops and carriage with a drive for reciprocation. The carriage can interact with the stops. The mechanism for moving the rows of springs is made up as a carriage for moving a row of springs and spring- loaded links interacting with the axle secured to the carriage of the device for setting the springs in a row. The links are coupled with the carriage for moving the rows of springs through a system of levers. The carriage is provided with a rotatable shaft whereto levers for gripping springs and additional links are secured. The device for assembling springs in a unit is made up as guides for the connecting spiral mounted on the frame at the site where the adjacent rows of springs are coupled. The guides consist of two members. One of the members is secured to the frame. The other member is secured to the double-arm lever spring-loaded with respect to the frame and coupled with the rotatable shaft of the mechanism for moving rows of springs through the free arm as well as unit for feeding and rotating the connecting spiral.
