FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: glass-like polysaccharide abrasive product in the form of sintered particles is prepared by dispersing mixture of starch having dextrose equivalent of less than 25 and water in amount of 10-70 wt %, subsequently heating the resulting dispersion to temperature sufficient to anneal mixture at pressure that allows maintaining the boiling point of the mixture to be treated above the heating temperature of said mixture, cooling it under normal conditions and grinding it. The resulting product has apparent particle hardness of not greater than 4.0 moh. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 9 cl
