FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method comes to the following: amounts of incombustible liquid are injected through atomizers into combustion chambers of engine which serve as vapor generators where they are converted into vapor under action of combustion heat and owing to volumetric expansion, they maintain movement of working members and execute additional work. Amounts of incombustible liquid are injected into special slotted vapor generators heat 0 insulated from inner surfaces of combustion chambers and formed by outer parts of their evaporating surfaces and the inner surfaces of engine cylinder combustion chambers. Vapor generated in vapor generators gets into combustion chambers through outlet holes in vapor generators. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 5 cl, 1 dwg
