UNITARY SMALL CALIBER CARTRIDGE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: ammunition, small caliber cartridges of unitary loading with armour-piercing subcaliber projectiles. SUBSTANCE: armour-piercing subcaliber projectile carrying heavy-alloy core is mounted in case through tray. Case includes percussion cap, stepped igniting tube which has expansion across inlet equal to (0.2-0.5) diameter of blasting hole and combined propelling charge which presents mixture of pyroxylin phlegmatized gun powders, grained and spherical ones, taken in proportion, per cent by mass: 82. 0-97.0 and 3.0-18.0 correspondingly. Length of igniting tube amounts to 0.3-0.5 height of propelling charge. Core is installed inside plastic sectorial body fastened by means of centering brushing. Tray has trough gas dynamic hole and leading belt. EFFECT: enhanced hitting efficiency of cartridge. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
