FIELD: artillery rounds with a subcaliber armor-piercing projectile.
SUBSTANCE: the round has an armor-piercing subcaliber projectile with a heavy-alloy core provided with a tail unit located inside the body filled with a powder propellant charge, with a primer cap with a flame transmission tube installed in its bottom part. The heavy-alloy core is fastened in an aluminum tray carrying a plastic driving band and a case with longitudinal grooves. The tray is made split, whose component sectors are additionally fastened by a band having jumpers of a weakened section and positioned in the circular weakened section and positioned in the circular slot of the central funnel of the front end of the tray, which by means of a left-hand thread is rigidly engaged with the heavy-alloy core, and by means of a lock joint - with the body made in the form of a thin-walled end piece. Communication ducts providing penetration of powder gases formed as a result of combustion of the propellant charge inside the thin-walled end piece are distributed in the tray sectors.
EFFECT: enhanced armor-piercing capacity of the core of the subcaliber projectile at large distances and angles of impact with the obstacles without ricochet.
