FIELD: metallurgical processes. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing ferrovanadium by metallothermal reduction technique. To reduction smelt, magnesia materials are added and reduction is carried out at ratio of low-grade vanadium pentoxide/lime/magnesia materials equal to 1:(1.7-2.2): (0.4- 0.8) and magnesia materials' intake 50 to 100 kg per 1 t of smelt, temperature of process being 1700-1850 C. At the end of reduction period, when reject slags are run off, boric anhydride in amount 6-12 kg per 1 t of slag is added into furnace or slag pot. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 2 cl, 1 tbl
