FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: under this method prior to the charge mixer loading on the furnace hearth the mixture of periclase powder and boric acid in ratio 1:(0.01-0.05) and in quantity 0.06-0.30 of weight of the melted alloy is supplied. The restoration period of melting is performed at aluminium content in liquid semi-finished product 5-15%, and ratio of vanadium pentoxide to lime in the charge mixture at the beginning of the restoration period is 1:(0.15-0.30), then during refining period - 1:(0.31-0.40). The refining mixture additionally contains aluminium in amount of 0.02-0.10 of weight of vanadium pentoxide.
EFFECT: invention increases vanadium extraction, reduces aluminium and firebricks consumption, increases productivity and improves quality.
