FIELD: metallurgy, particular, production of vanadium-containing ferroalloys. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes reduction smelting of vanadium-containing materials with excessive content of silicon reducer, final reduction of vanadium with metal wastes activated with aluminum. Metal wastes are produced by pouring of aluminum into metal wastes found in ingot molds. In this case, weight ratio of metal wastes and aluminum is maintained within 1: (0.5-5). Metal wastes are used in form, mainly, of siftings of ferrovanadium after crushing, which before pouring with aluminum are presented in compact state, for instance, pressed in metal capsules. The offered method, as distinct from the known one, features increase of vanadium recovery by 2-2.5%, reduced specific power consumption by 17-20%; reduced consumption of ferrosilicon by 10-12%, lime, by 9-11%, refractories, by 25-30%; increase of productivity by 20-25%; utilization of wastes and improvement of alloy quality.
