FIELD: electrometallurgy; may be used in ferroalloy smelting. SUBSTANCE: method includes continuous supply of metered charge to furnace and periodic discharge of melt. In so doing, 6-23% of time in the month period of furnace operation is taken for use of pitch coke, 15-30% of time, for use of mixture of pitch and metallurgical coke, with content of metallurgical coke in mixture with pitch coke amounting to 5-50%, and optimal sequence of change of cokes is: metallurgical coke - pitch coke - mixture of pitch and metallurgical cokes. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 1 tbl
