FIELD: mining industry; applicable in mineral opencast mining. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes, at the first stage, working of opencast flank with parameters ensuring values of coherence and angle of repose of rock mass to maintain the required stability, and at the following stages, opencast flanks are reworked to new positions to height permissible with respect to stability of flanks and parameters of opencast bottom. Analytical dependences for determination of positions of flanks are offered in the invention description. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
