FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to opencast mining of minerals. According to method, side of quarry is developed at certain horizontal distance from its design contour as determined according to analytic relation. Before development of intermediate working sites, drilled from them are bore-holes in minerals located in quarry side being developed. Given in description is analytic relation for determining horizontal distance between design and developed contours of working arrangement. Aforesaid method helps solve problem of more full and efficient winning of minerals from ground due to increased amount of their extraction in quarry side and reducing scope of opencast operations.
