FIELD: measurement technology, systems of automatic control and regulation of parameters of technological processes. SUBSTANCE: method consists in formation of first and second probing pulses along two specified directions. Information on value of tested medium is formed in the form of two sequences of acoustic signals. Device for realization of method has three ultrasonic converters and signal processing circuit determining value of level. First ultrasonic converter is positioned on horizontal section of measurement tube. Second and third converters are installed on walls of second measurement tube. Instability of rate of propagation of probing pulses does not influence value of level of medium. EFFECT: increased authenticity of measurement results. 2 cl, 2 dwg
