COAST-PROTECTING STRUCTURE AND PROCESS OF ITS ERECTION Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: construction industry, bridge building, erection of long-length span structures. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to hydrotechnical construction, namely, to erection of coast- protecting alluvial structures. Proposed coast protecting structure includes spur dikes positioned along normal to coast line and wave suppressing member adjoining on them and placed between them which is erected in the form of chamber absorbing wave energy. It has pressure wall with slit holes, wave-suppressing roller situated above pressure wall, wave absorbing filters installed in chamber, accumulation pit made in base of chamber and artificial sand beach bordering on internal wall of chamber. Wave-absorbing filters can be extended and form perforated side walls of chamber. Upper wall of chamber is provided with access holes for installation and removal of wave-absorbing filters, its lower wall is erected in the form of separable gridwork floor. For beach formation absorbing chamber is erected with wave- suppressing roller under its pressure wall and accumulation pit in base. Soil material forming alluvials os collected and wave-absorbing filters are grown in accumulation pit. Grown wave-absorbing filters are used to build outer shelvings of spur dikes.
