FIELD: sealing technology; stepped hydraulic cylinders with axial slotted seal of one of stages used in pressure boosters, hydraulic strikers and other devices. SUBSTANCE: seal includes unsplit ring with flat and parallel faces fitted at specified clearance for radial motion of bearing rings between end faces. Bearing rings are fixed relative to one part of pair to be sealed of second stage of hydraulic cylinder. Cavity between this part and ring is brought in communication with low-pressure cavity of hydraulic cylinder. End faces located on different sides from ring are provided with sealing lands interconnected by means of grooves. Sealing lands form one inlet and three outlet end slotted seals.
