FIELD: nondestructive test. SUBSTANCE: surface under test is irradiated by beam of beta-particles at two angles of incidence of 45 and 85 dwg., and intensity of scattered radiation is measured. Beta-radiation detector is positioned perpendicularly to surface of highly porous cellular material at fixed height from surface. Radioisotope source of narrow beam of beta-particles is arranged to one side of surface under test with detector. It is mounted for horizontal movement and provided with turning device. Distance from point of normal to surface from detector window center up to point of beam incidence on surface is set proceeding from relation d = do-k(90°-α), where d is distance from point of incidence of beta-particles beam to normal from detector window center to surface; do is constant; k is constant; α is angle of incidence of beta-particle beam on surface. Nondestructive test device has detector of beta-particles recorder of number of beta-particles, and radioisotope source of beta- particles narrow beam. EFFECT: higher test results. 2 cl, 3 dwg
