FIELD: composite materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder composite materials and compact electrode material involving aluminothermics technique. Method includes preparing charge by mixing scheelite concentrate with aluminum followed by thermal reduction, the charge being supplemented with boron compound in weight proportion to tungsten oxide contained in concentrate (0.15-0.3): 1, whereas aluminum to tungsten oxide weight ratio ranges from 0.2:1 to 0.3:1.
