SUBSTANCE: the device has a horizontal table, conveying and batching rolls, friction drive, system for measurement of length, width, determination of defect coordinates and orientation of material relative to the preset line of movement. The device also uses a mechanism for continuous measurement of linear motions of moving long canvas made in the form of a lightened roller and a baffle plate, system for measurement of width and determination of coordinates of material defects, as well as a system for orientation of material according to one of its edges.
