FIELD: power engineering; production of low- and intermediate-pressure steam. SUBSTANCE: steam generator has heating surface, liquid-coolant (water inlet and steam outlet systems with valves installed in respective pipings, and in addition it is provided with system for admitting atmospheric air to heating surface made, for example, in the form of receiver with pressure- reducing valve and piping connecting it to heating surface. The latter, in its turn, is connected to siphon turning into piping with valve for water and air outlet. Siphon is mounted for contacting liquid coolant. It is good practice to install electromagnetic valves on pipings supplying air to heating surface and discharging water and air from it so that their inlets are connected to outlet of pressure sensor mounted on piping supplying steam to user. Pipings delivering air and liquid coolant to heating surface may be combine and common piping should be provided with OR-gate valve.
