FIELD: radiolocation, coherent-pulse tracking radars constructing 2D radar image and identifying air targets by it. SUBSTANCE: it is suggested to use pulse probing with linear change of carrier frequency from pulse to pulse in combination with algorithm of inverse radar synthesizing aperture in tracking radar of centimeter range. Proposed method of processing of reflected signals allows high resolution to be obtained simultaneously in radial and lateral directions relative to sighting line. Operation of 2D fast Fourier transform with number of elements of processed array of data 2N×2N (N≥8) is used as basis of method of construction of 2D radar image. Distinguishing feature of method lies in high quality and detailedness of formed 2D radar image that is achievement of such optical characteristics of radar image which can be earlier obtained by means of superwideband probing that is not used in present-day radars because of known difficulties of realization in hardware. EFFECT: increased accuracy and detailedness of construction of 2D radar image of tracked air target that leads to enhanced authenticity of its identification. 1 dwg
