FIELD: plate rolling. SUBSTANCE: process controlling velocity mode of drum-type flying shears when cutting end sections of slab of wide-band hot-rolling mill consists in measurement of rate of rolling for reduction of longitudinal efforts in process of cutting. Circumferential velocity of blade is set as half-sum of velocities of blades at first point of contact of two blades with slab ( start of cutting ) and at last point of contact of blades with one another across section of width of slab ( finish of cutting ). Summons of this calculation are determined from condition of equality of velocity of slab and of horizontal components of circumferential velocities of blades at starting and finishing points of cutting with due account of thickness and width of slab.
