BULLET Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: rifled small arms ammunition used to fire individual noiseless automatic firearm. SUBSTANCE: bullet has an envelope in the form of a sleeve, jacket and a steel slug, having a diameter of 0.66 to 0.85 of the bullet diameter installed with projection of the head section behind the envelope open end face, and having an ogival head. The bullet is made with the following parameters of its components: bullet length - 4.5 to 4.7 d, length of the bullet head section - 1.7 to 1.8 d, radius of ogival head - 3.7 to 3.8 d, length of the bullet tail section - 1.4 to 1.5 d. The tail section is made in the form of a truncated cone with the diameter of the bullet end being within 0.5 to 0.6d, slug length - 4.3 to 4.4d, where d - bullet diameter. The bullet weight coefficient is 22,000 to 24,000 kg/cu.m. The slug may have an ogival head with a flat blunting of the tip with the following relation of components: length of the slug head section - 1.5 to 1.8d, radius of the tip ogival - 0.22d, max. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
