SUBSTANCE: known method of orientation of photograph is supplemented by operations of selection of second photograph having overlapping zone with first photograph, obtainment of three-dimensional model of terrain, location of preliminary orientation elements of model of terrain and their subsequent refining till all reference points situated on contour lines of topographic map match corresponding contour lines of three-dimensional model of terrain, detection of elements of external orientation of photograph by orientation elements of three-dimensional model and elements of mutual orientation of photographs.
