FIELD: catalytic gas treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at developing method for preparing palladium catalyst possessing elevated strength, not caking under severe process conditions and preserving its high activity. Catalyst of invention containing palladium on aluminosilicate carrier with specific surface 5-20 sq.m/g and pore volume 0.27-0.35 cu.cm/g is prepared by impregnating indicated carrier with palladium nitrate solution in air and subsequent drying and calcination at 400-460 C in air or inert gas flow. Carrier pore volume with radius up to 50 nm constitutes 20-40%, and that with radius greater than 59 nm is 60-80%. Effective radius of carrier pores is at least 400 nm. Active component is applied onto carrier through nozzles. Content of palladium in catalyst ranges from 0.01 to 2%. Impregnated catalyst is cured for at least 5 h.
