WIRE PRODUCTION LINE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2102168 C1

FIELD: wire manufacturing equipment. SUBSTANCE: wire production line has the following successively positioned components: uncoiling unit, welding unit for butt welding of coiled material ends, roll straightener, gang slitting shears for slitting material into square-section wires, abrasive processing unit consisting of two rotating cylindrical abrasive tools, and roller systems. Installed after these units in guides are a cluster of wire drawing dies adopted for cross-movement from a drive and coiler made in the form of multisectional drums. Number of wire drawing dies in the cluster and total number of sections on the drums are determined by the number of wires drawn simultaneously. In case of simultaneous multiwire production the number of drums may be four and more (even number is obligatory). Ramp is positioned in the line after the welding unit and is intended for providing the line with material in the course of welding operation. Since the wire is produced from flat blank with a thickness equal to the diameter of wire and since the drawing process is used for rounding the wire cross-section only, it is sufficient that the drawing be performed one time only. EFFECT: high efficiency of wire production line. 4 cl, 2 dwg
