FIELD: metal welding. SUBSTANCE: method is applied when welding and surfacing metals under flux to manufacture various welded structures. Dependence between welding current intensity and thickness of bulk layer of flux in arc burning zone is as follows: H = (70-85) + 180/ln(1/H = (70÷85)+180/ln(1/Iw)) where H is flux layer thickness, mm, and Iw welding current intensity, A. EFFECT: improved quality of welding seam.
