FIELD: hydrometallurgy. SUBSTANCE: initial material is production waste containing copper and other nonferrous metals mixed with considerable amounts (up to 30%) of mineral oils. Initial material is blended with concentrated sulfuric acid observing mineral oil to sulfuric acid weight ratio 1: (0.7-1.7), kept 1-2 h at 150 C, and etched by sulfuric acid solution. Recovery of copper and other nonferrous metals is higher than 95%. EFFECT: increased recovery level. 2 cl, 2 tbl
