SUBSTANCE: air-cooled engine has at least one ribbed cylinder with ribbed head and noise isolating housing flexibly enclosing outer edges of head and cylinder ribs. Housing is made of material featuring high heat conductivity, porosity, permeability to gases and vibration and noise damping properties shaped of disorganized or oriented set of pressed together thin metal fibers. Housing can be made of porous gauze material with walls of convex and/or concave shape. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 3 cl, 6 dwg
