FIELD: mechanical engineering; transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of passenger car furnished with noise damping decorative case of upper part of internal combustion engine. Proposed vehicle contains internal combustion engine installed in engine compartment of car whose upper part is enclosed in noise insulating case installed with clearance in hood space relative to body hood. Outer decorative load-bearing shell of case is rigidly secured on frame of internal combustion engine. Inner noise-absorbing panel made of porous material is located on inner surface of shell. Structure of case is two-layer, porous, and its outer load-bearing decorative shell is made of porous damping noise-absorbing metal structure. Outer load-bearing decorative shell of case can be made of foamed open celled aluminum or its alloys, of porous gauze material or material of porous metallized rubber type. Inner noise absorbing panel can be made of open-celled foamed polyurethane, porous noise absorbing synthetic or organic fiber felt, or porous structurized leather. Structure of outer load-bearing decorative shell can be ribber, space between stiffening ribs can be filled with fragments of inner porous noise-absorbing panel. Invention is aimed at providing effective absorption of sound energy radiated by upper part of internal combustion engine and random sound radiated by sets and systems of power unit in hood space of engine compartment.
EFFECT: provision of high noise absorbing capacity of case.
