FIELD: evacuation technique; seals for gas or liquid filled reservoirs and pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: sealing sleeve is made in form of solid ring manufactured from plastic elastic-flexible film or rubber sheet. In fitting the ring on joint, it is stretched radially over internal contour due to elastic- flexible deformations till sleeve takes form close to configuration of section being sealed. Proper sealing is achieved through tight faying of sleeve to surface. To obtain required tightness, the following relationships shall be satisfied: and , where Dr is external diameter of ring, dr is internal diameter of ring, Dj is diameter of joint to be sealed and "b" is width of sealing band. For sealing the reservoirs containing aggressive media, rings-sleeves are made from respective aggressive-resistant plastics, for example, fluoroplastic or rubber of definite grades.
