FIELD: metallurgy; transfer of molten metal in ladles or vessels located under tap of blast furnace, both before and in course of casting of molten metal excluding contact between surface of molten metal contained in ladle and oxygen of air. SUBSTANCE: at least one inert gas supply pipe may be located in zone of tap of each casting unit of blast furnace and may be positioned beyond clearance limits of ladle during its delivery and removal; end of pipe is located before pouring hole of ladle; provision is made for supply of inert gas at angle which is more than zero but is less than 90 deg.
