FIELD: metal production.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for producing a metal powder by gas spraying and a plant for its implementation. The specified method contains the following steps: a) a metal charge is provided containing at least one material selected from a group containing scrap metal, metal ore and metal powders, b) the said metal charge is melted inside an electric arc furnace, controlling the composition of the metal charge, to obtain a metal melt having the required composition, c) the said metal melt is released from the said electric arc furnace and collected inside at least one ladle, c1) the metal melt collected in the said at least one bucket is refined, wherein the said refining step c1) is carried out by introducing the said at least one ladle containing the said metal melt into a closed refining chamber, inside of which a controlled atmosphere or vacuum or overpressure is created, d) the said metal melt released from the said electric arc furnace and refined in the refining chamber is sprayed by feeding the said metal melt into at least one gas sprayer, inside of which a metal melt flow is created, and the said metal melt flow is affected with a spray inert gas flow to spray the said metal melt to produce a metal powder, and e) the resulting metal powder is extracted from the said gas sprayer.

EFFECT: metal powder is obtained by gas spraying without additional intermediate stages of solidification and re-melting using metal materials with a composition significantly different from the composition of the resulting metal powders, as well as variable and unequal shapes and sizes.
