SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalyst for treating gases containing sulfur compounds and/or for hydrolyzing sulfur organic compounds which contains, as main component, catalytically active aluminum oxide and is distinguished by that sodium content in aluminum oxide is chosen in the range between 1200 potassium, and 2700 ppm Na2O.
