FIELD: rolling equipment, namely system for transmitting rotation to rolling rolls, mainly in roller straightening machines with Cardan joints. SUBSTANCE: joint assembly of universal spindle includes coupling halves with Cardan joint and casing made of two cylinders. One of said cylinders is rigidly secured to coupling half. Another cylinder is mounted on other coupling half with possibility of axial motion and it is spring-loaded in that direction. Said cylinders engage one with another along spheric surfaces R whose center coincides with center of joint assembly. EFFECT: simplified design of fluid-tight joint assembly. 1 dwg
