FIELD: organic chemistry; pharmacology. SUBSTANCE: β-phenyl isoserine and its analoges having common formula (I) which is given in specification are prepared of aromatic aldehyde and α-methylarylamino-s, lactam having common formula (II) being intermediate product. In mentioned above formulae (I) and (II) Ar is radical of aryl, Ph is radical of phenyl being substituted if it is necessary; R₁ is group which protects function of alcohol in the form of ester or ether; R is hydrogen atom or alkyl radical being substituted if it is necessary by phenyl radical. Acids having formula (I) (R=H) are available for production of taxane derivatives having antitumor and antileukemia action. EFFECT: improved efficiency of the method. 9 cl
