FIELD: devices for purification of water from suspended particles; may be used in chemical, metallurgical and other industries. SUBSTANCE: settler has cylindrical body with inclined bottom, devices for supply of water to be purified, withdrawal of clarified water, thin-layer module accommodated in framework in the form of inclined cylinder. Separating plates of this-layer module are inclined at an angle of 30-60 deg and present equilateral triangle in cross-section with angle between sides of 30-150 deg. Settler has sediments distributor which is made in the form of two parallel shields whose upper edge enters recesses of separating plates of thin-layer module, while lower edge is located below the device supplying water. Settler also has device for periodic cleaning of bottom. Water to be purified flows through intake to settler distribution zone, further on, rises to thin-layer module where laminar settling of solid phase on separating plates takes place. Under gravity sediments slide over inclined plates to their profiled part forming inclined trough and over it to sediments distributor. Sediments pass settling zone to zone of sediments accumulation and withdrawal through outlet. Clarified water is collected in vessel located under framework of thin-layer module. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl, 3 dwg
