FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of liquid metal into mold, pulling of casting from mold with variable rate, supporting and direction of casting in zone of secondary cooling by rolls, changing of opening between roll barrels in transverse direction to casting, measuring of temperature of casting face surfaces, and cooling of casting face surfaces of coolant spraying from jet nozzles. In the course of continuous casting temperature of each narrow face of casting is measured and value of opening between roll barrels, in each pair of rolls, is determined by expression given in the invention description. EFFECT: higher quality of continuous cast castings. 1 tbl
