FIELD: medicine; ultrasound diagnosis of autoimmune diseases of thyroid gland. SUBSTANCE: ultrasound examination of thyroid gland is conducted with comparative study where echogenicity of thyroid tissue is compared with that of parotid salivary gland tissue. If echogenicity of patient's thyroid gland drops in relation to that of his (her) parotid salivary gland, autoimmune disease case is diagnosed. Comparative study is carried out by comparing intensities in coloration of images of two compared glands. EFFECT: higher accuracy and objective value of diagnosis in any age group of patients.
