FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out ultrasonic examination and determining thyroidal volume. Thyroid gland mass is calculated and child body mass is determined. Thyroid gland mass ratio relative to child body mass is calculated. The ratio being equal to 0.07-0.11*10-3, thyroid gland condition is considered to be in norm. The value being less than 0.7*10-3, thyroid gland hypoplasia is to be diagnosed. The value being greater than 0.11*10-3, thyroid gland hyperplasia is to be diagnosed.
EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
