FIELD: medicine; otorhinolaryngology. SUBSTANCE: patient's affected maxillary sinus is punctured with the help of Kulikovsky needle. Catheter is passed through needle, followed by washing sinus with physiological solution injected by syringe. Fluids resulting from washing are collected into glass tube to record chemiluminescence level. If spontaneous glow level is above 3 conventional units, peak flash is above 6 conventional units and light total sum is above 30 conventional units, given inflammatory process is evaluated as acute. If spontaneous glow level is below 2, peak flash is below 2.5 and light total sum is below 15 conventional units, given inflammatory process is regarded as chronic. EFFECT: higher diagnosis accuracy; selection of more pathogenic treatment method.
